Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Turtleneck Sweater

Pepper is the ultimate cozy pullover. With its oversized collar and wide cuffs, it’s got just enough style while staying super relaxed. The roomy fit, dropped shoulder, and high-hip hem make it easy to layer over anything. Perfect for cozy days or when you want to add a little something extra to your look.

Sew up Pepper in medium to heavy knits with at least 25% stretch—think sweatshirt fleece, French terry, sherpa knits, rib knits, and sweater knits.

Fabric & Supplies

Medium-weight to heavy weight fabrics knit fabrics with at least 25% stretch, such as sweatshirt fleece, fleece, French terry, sherpa knits, rib knits and sweater knits.

Sizing & Fit

Felicia is wearing Pepper in a size 6, graded to a 4 at the bust. We added 3/4" to the sleeve length. Her measurements are bust: 35" (89 cm), waist: 29" (73.7 cm), hip: 38 1/2" (97.8 cm), and she is 5' 8" (172.75 cm) tall.

Franki is wearing Pepper in a size 20. We graded to a size 18 at waist and hips, and removed 1" from the sleeve length. Her measurements are bust: 48" (122 cm), waist: 39" (99 cm), hip: 50" (127 cm), and she is 5' 6 1/2" (169 cm) tall.

00 – 30

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
