Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Woven Wrap Top

The Idra Wrap Top is a timeless, romatic design that brings drama and elegance to your everyday wardrobe. Made for woven fabrics, Idra features a lined front bodice with radiating pleats, bust darts, and back waist shaping for a flattering fit. The deep V-neckline and dramatic waist tie enhance the wrap silhouette, while billowing sleeves with gathered caps and elasticized hems add soft volume. Perfect for elevating jeans, pairing with skirts, or layering over dresses, Idra is a statement piece that’s as wearable as it is skill-building.

Fabric & Supplies

Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, cotton gauze, voile, chambray, swiss dot, rayon challis, linen, rayon crepe, and silk.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, Sewing machine needle, 1/2 yard (.5 meter) 1/2" (13 mm) single fold bias tape, 5/8 yards (.6 meters) 3/8" (10 mm) elastic, point turner, and a large safety pin or bodkin.

Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

00 – 30

Sizing & Fit

Eden is wearing a size 4 Idra top with waist reduced 2". Her measurements are bust: 35" (88.9 cm), waist: 25 1/4" (64.1 cm), and hip: 37" (94 cm), and she is 5' 8" (172.75 cm) tall.

Franki is wearing a size 20 Idra top. We lowered the bust dart 3/4" and increased the dart uptake and length by 1/2". Her measurements are bust: 49 1/2" (124.5 cm), waist: 41" (104.1 cm), hip: 52 1/2" (133.4 cm), and she is 5' 6 1/2" (169 cm) tall.

00 – 30

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
