Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

Rudy is a relaxed, pull-over hooded sweatshirt with raglan sleeves. It features a kangaroo pocket and an elastic finish at the sleeve hems and waistband.

Sew it up in your favorite knits, like sweatshirt fleece, French terry, jersey, and rib knit. Pick coordinating ribbing for the sleeves and hem for a ready-to-wear look.

Medium weight knit fabrics with at least 35% stretch, such as ponte, French terry, double knits, sweater fleece, and jerseys.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, Ballpoint sewing machine needle, Ballpoint twin needle, 1 5/8 yards (1.5 meters) of 1/2" (13 mm) braided elastic, 52" (132 cm) of 1/4" (6 mm) drawstring, 2 squares of 1" (2.5 cm) x 1" (2.5 cm) fusible interfacing

Maya is wearing a size 2 Rudy hoodie with 4″ added to the body length, 2 1/2″ added to the sleeve length, and 3/4″ added to the hood height. Her measurements are 33”, 26”, 36 1/2” and she is 5’10”.

0 – 26

Sizes 0-16 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 18-26 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
