Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

The Max pants are so fun to make, with a versatile design that you can sew over and over in different fabrics. They have a breezy tapered silhouette with inseam and patch pockets. The elastic waist back gives you a streamlined look from the front with a flexible, comfortable fit at the back.

These pants are designed to complement the Katiusca tank. Sew up both patterns in linen for a coordinating me-made outfit that will never go out of style.

Fabric & Supplies

Medium weight woven fabrics such as cotton twill, linen, linen blends, denim, chambray, and rayon twill.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, a sewing machine needle, 5/8 yards (.6 meters) of 1" (2.5 cm) braided elastic, 3/4 yards (.7 meters) of lightweight fusible interfacing, and a small safety pin or bodkin.

Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

00 – 26

Sizing & Fit

Michele is wearing a size 6 Max pant with the inseam shortened 1" and a small thigh adjustment. Her measurements are 34 1/2", 29", 37 3/4” and she is 5'6" tall.

Frankie is wearing a size 16 Max pant with the rise and inseam shortened 2". Her measurements are 43 1/2", 38 1/2", 48" and she is 5'6 1/2".

00 – 26

Sizes 00-16 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-26 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
