Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

The woven jogger sewing pattern

The Fallon pants are woven joggers with a relaxed, gender-neutral fit. They feature an elasticized waist and hem—so you can be comfortable and in style. You'll also sew surface applied knee patches and a bunch of pockets, including slash pockets on the front, a patch pocket with a flap on the side seam, and back patch pockets.

Fabric & Supplies

Medium weight woven fabrics such as cotton twill, linen, linen blends, denim, chambray, and rayon twill.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, a sewing machine needle, 1” braided elastic, 1.5” braided elastic, and a small safety pin or bodkin.

Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

00 – 30

Sizing & Fit

For Sarah we made a size 00 and shortened the inseam 2" above the knee patch.

For Tambrie we made a size 18 and reduced the waist, hip and leg opening 1".

For Ryan we made a size 14 and reduced the front and back rise length 2.5". We also raised the knee patch placement 1.5".
