Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

This classic, short wrap coat with princess seams is perfect for between seasons. Lady Grey has a very wide collar, 3/4-length sleeves that look wonderful with bracelets or long gloves, and fullness at the hem. The coat is fully lined and closes with one internal and one external button, and includes a wide self-fabric tie belt. This is a great project to learn how to do a bagged lining if you've never done one before!

Fabric & Supplies

Light coating fabric such as tropical wool or wool flannel.

Lightweight fabric such as silk crepe, rayon lining, silk twill.
