Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

The Jada dress has a ready-to-wear look that you can sew yourself. Designed for knits, this dress has a fit-and-flare shape with a layered bodice for a bit of a flounce when you move.

Details include a keyhole closure at the center back, a fitted bodice, overlay, and an A-line skirt that finishes below the knee. Sew Jada in lightweight and medium-weight knits with at least 50% stretch, such as cotton spandex, rayon knits, and soy or bamboo blends.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, ballpoint sewing machine needle, ballpoint twin needle, 1/4" (6 mm) or 3/8" (10 mm) shank button, 1 3/4" (4.4 cm) length of 1/8" (3 mm) elastic or elastic cord, 2 yards (1.8 meters) of 1/4" (6 mm) clear elastic or knit stay tape.

Cora is wearing a size 8 Jada dress, graded to a 12 at the waist and hip. Her measurements are 37", 31 1/2", 42 3/4", and 5'9".

00 – 26

Sizes 00-16 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-26 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
