Beginner

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Gathered Midi Skirt

Elowen is a romantic, easy-to-wear skirt designed to marry timeless style with effortless wearability. It sits at the natural waist, with a shaped yoke that dips into a gentle V at the front and curves softly along the back. The gathered skirt creates a fluid, midi-length silhouette that moves beautifully.

Thoughtful construction details give Elowen a clean, refined finish. The yoke is fully lined for a smooth, polished feel, and an invisible zipper at the back keeps the look streamlined. The skirt is finished with a classic double-fold hem.

Fabric & Supplies

Lightweight woven fabrics such as linen, cotton lawn, eyelet, seersucker, cotton gauze, shirting, chambray, gingham, Swiss dot, linen, challis, and crepe.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, all-purpose sewing machine needle, 1 yard (1 meter) lightweight fusible interfacing, one 9” invisible zipper, and one hook and eye closure.

Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

00 – 30

Sizing & Fit

Eden is wearing the Elowen skirt in a size 0. We added 1 1/2" to the length. Her measurements are bust: 33 3/4" (85.7 cm), waist: 25 3/4" (65.4 cm). Hip: 36 1/4" (92 cm), and she is 5' 8" (172.7 cm) tall.

Franki is wearing the Elowen skirt in a size 20. We shortened the length 1 1/2". Her measurements are bust: 51" (129.5 cm), waist: 42" (106.7 cm), hip: 53" (134.6 cm), and she is 5'6 1/2" (168.9cm) tall.

00 – 30

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
