Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

Sewing your own pants is so empowering because you get to customize the fabric, the fit, and the design intention, so they totally match your style.

The Channing pants are a modern, relaxed wardrobe staple, perfect for your favorite woven fabrics, from chino or linen to wool. Mid-rise with a tapered leg, they also feature front pleats, a faux fly, slash pockets, and a fitted waistband with elastic at the back. The hem sits right above the ankle.

Medium weight woven fabrics such as chino, cotton blends, twill, linen, suitings, and wool.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread sewing machine needle 1/2 yard of 1" braided elastic 1 yard of lightweight fusible interfacing

Kristi is wearing size 6 Channing pants, shortened by 1/2”. Her measurements are 33”, 27 1/2”, 28”.

Sizes 0-16 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 18-26 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
