Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Fully lined for a smooth finish, Maple pairs beautifully with both casual and dressy outfits, making it a versatile piece you’ll reach for season after season.

Fabric & Supplies

Heavyweight coating fabrics such as melton wool, cashmere, boucle, or boiled wool. 

Lightweight woven linings such as cotton lawn, acetate, rayon, or silk.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, sewing machine needle, hand-sewing needle, eleven 1 1/4” (32 mm) buttons1 3/4 yards (1.6 meters) woven fusible interfacing, and 1 yard (1 meter) knit fusible interfacing. Optional: shoulder pads. 

Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

00 – 30

Sizing & Fit

Eden is wearing the Maple coat in a size 2. We added 3/8" to the sleeve length and body length. Her measurements are bust: 34 1/4" (87 cm), waist: 25" (63.5 cm). Hip: 36 1/4" (92 cm), and she is 5' 8" (172.7 cm) tall.

Morgan is wearing the Maple coat in a size 20. Her measurements are bust: 48" (122 cm), waist: 41" (104.1 cm). Hip: 52" (132.1 cm), and she is 5' 9" (175.3 cm) tall.

00 – 30

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
