Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Semi-Fitted Knit Mini Dress

The Pomme Dress is a semi-fitted knit mini dress that blends everyday comfort with a touch of playful sophistication. Designed with front and back princess seams, Pomme follows your natural curves with a smooth, body-skimming silhouette that feels polished without being restrictive. Its mid-thigh length gives it a fresh, modern proportion, while the gathered puff sleeves, finished with soft elastic above the elbow, add gentle volume and charm. A round neckline finished with a neatly applied facing that attaches cleanly to the princess seams created a refined interior and exterior finish. Pomme is the perfect balance of simple, playful, and stylish.

Fabric & Supplies

Medium weight knit fabrics with a least 35% stretch, such as ponte, French terry, double knits, sweater fleece, sweater knits, stretch velvet and jerseys.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, ballpoint sewing machine needle, ballpoint twin needle, 1 1/4 yard (1.2 meters) of 3/8” (10mm) braided elastic, and a large safety pin or bodkin

Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

Sizing & Fit

Laurel is wearing a size 10 Pomme dress. We made a narrow shoulder adjustment, reduced the bust by 3/4", and increased to hip by 1 1/2".Her measurements are bust: 37 3/4" (95.9 cm), waist: 30 1/2" (77.5 cm), hip: 43" (109.2 cm), and she is 5'9" (175. 3 cm) tall.

Franki is wearing a size 22 Pomme dress. We reduced the waist and hips by 1", and reduced the sleeve length by 1/2". Her measurements are bust: 49 1/2" (125.7 cm), waist: 42" (106.7 cm), hip: 53" (134.6 cm), and she is 5'6 1/2" (168.9cm) tall.

00 – 30

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
