Beginner

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Fabric & Supplies

Lightweight woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, cotton voile, cotton gauze, chambray, Swiss dot, linen, rayon challis, rayon crepe, and silk.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, sewing machine needle, 3/4 yards (.75 yards) lightweight fusible interfacing, and eight 1/2” (13 mm) buttons. 

Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

00 – 30

Sizing & Fit

Eden is wearing a size 4 Fern blouse with no adjustments. Her measurements are bust: 35" (88.9 cm), waist: 25 1/4" (64.1 cm), hip: 37" (94 cm), and she is 5'8" (172.7 cm) tall.

Tambrie is wearing the Fern blouse in a size 18 from our 12-30 size range. We shortened the sleeve length 1/2". Her measurements are bust: 46" (116.8 cm), waist: 39" (99 cm), hip: 50" (127 cm), and she is 5'8" (172.7 cm) tall.

00 – 30

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
