Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

If you want to sew your own underthings, start with the Fable underwear. This cheeky pair of underwear comes with two different versions. Version one is high-rise with lace leg panels for a bit more coverage at the leg opening. Version two features a high-rise and high leg cut finished with stretch lace.

Fabric & Supplies

Light to medium weight knits with two-way stretch with 50% stretch and good recovery, such as cotton jersey, bamboo/soy jersey blends, double brushed polyester knit, mesh, and rib knit.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, Ballpoint sewing machine needle, Ballpoint twin needle 1 1/8 yards (1 meter) of 3/8" (10 mm) picot elastic, Version 1: 1 1/2 yards (1.4 meters) 7" (18 cm) Galloon stretch lace, Version 2: 1 yard (.9 meters) 1/2" - 1" stretch lace.

Solana is wearing size 14 Fable underwear with the back rise shortened by 1/2”. Her waist is 33 3/4”, her hips are 42 3/4”, and she is 5’7” tall.

00 – 26

Sizes 00-16 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-26 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
