Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

If you’re looking for a project that’s quick to sew, doesn’t take much fabric, and won’t go out of style, make the Katiusca tank top. This top has deep, airy side vents that pair well with high-waisted pants, narrow, easy-to-fit straps, and it’s perfect for scrap-busting. To play with color-blocking, use a contrasting fabric for the bottom panel, which also has a facing for additional scrap-busting options.

This tank top is designed to complement the Max pants. Sew it alongside the Max pants for a me-made coordinating set.

Fabric & Supplies

Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as shirting, chambray, lawn, voile, rayon challis, rayon crepe, Tencel, poplin, Tencel twill, and silk crepe.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, sewing machine needle, 7/8 yard (.8 meters) of lightweight fusible interfacing, point turner, and a small safety pin or loop turner.

Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

00 – 26

Sizing & Fit

Michele is wearing a size 2 Katiusca tank top with the dart tip lowered 1/4", armhole lowered 1/4", 1" added to the strap length, and 1" added to the hip/sweep. Her measurements are 34 1/2", 29", 37 3/4” and she is 5'6" tall.

Franki is wearing a size 16 Katiusca tank top with 2" added to the strap length, dart lowered 1/2", neckline widened by 3/4", 1" removed from the body length. Her measurements are 43 1/2", 38 1/2", 48" and she is 5'6 1/2".

00 – 26

Sizes 00-16 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-26 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
