Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

Ruffle neckline blouse sewing pattern

This slim-fit woven blouse teaches you how to sew some classic, romantic details. The Danielle blouse features a dramatic ruffled collar, French darts, and rouleau button loops with shank buttons down the V-neckline. The fitted cuff also has a rouleau button closure, allowing you to practice sewing self-cording. With its slim fit, you can easily tuck this blouse into pants, shorts, or skirts, or you can layer it over a slip dress. In addition, the collar is faced, so you can simply omit the ruffle if it's not your style.

Fabric & Supplies

Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, cotton voile, cotton gauze, chambray, Swiss dot, linen, rayon challis, rayon crepe, and silk. .

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, sewing machine needle, hand-sewing needle, 1 yard (.9 meters) of lightweight fusible interfacing, thirteen 3/8" (10 mm) shank buttons, 20" (66 cm) of 1/4" (6 mm) double fold bias tape, 30" of a 1" self bias strip or 1 yard of 1/8" elastic for button loops.

00 – 30

Sizing & Fit

Tambrie is wearing a curvy size 16 graded to an 18 at the waist. We lowered the dart 1/2" (12 mm), added 1/2" (12 mm) to sleeve length, bust, and waist. Her measurements are 44 1/2" (113 cm), 37 1/2" (95.3 cm), 50" (127 cm), and she is 5'8" (1.73 m) tall.

Sophia is wearing a size 4. We added 1 3/4" (4.4 cm) to the sleeve length and did a broad shoulder adjustment. Her measurements are 33 1/4" (85.7 cm), 25 1/4", (64.1 cm) 36 1/4" (92 cm) and she is 5'8" (1.73 m) tall.

00 – 30

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
